I don't think a big heatsink is really necessary on a sub 75W TDP card. It s just looks better. I had no issue overclocking my low profile single slot GTX 750 ti to decent levels. There is even a full height fanless GTX 750ti model, that shows how little cooling sub 75W TDP cards need.
